Antigua His and Hers ‘17

Ron, Danielle and Sean

For over 37 years Ron McPherson, President and CEO of Antigua Group and his team have delivered innovative quality product to an ever-changing industry with phenomenal customer service and creative designs. Just think about that!

We’ve been connected to Ron and Antigua since the 90s through various organizations and tournaments. In any apparel line, there are always a few standouts that fit you, suit you and it might feel a bit guilty ignoring the rest of the great pieces, but that’s the way the closet rules. It’s about what you pull off the hanger frequently because it just feels well, good and that might be different for body or personality types.

So here are a few of our ‘17 favorites:

His – Finesse, yes! The bold stripe in a diagonal pattern in brilliant colors with dark to light fading make these shirts pop! Classic comfort and styling catapults Finesse to a wardrobe staple status whether for golf or leisure.

Artic Pullover- When playing with Ron in a media event at We-Ko-Pa in Arizona, we were impressed by this unique style of pullover he was wearing while a coyote stalked him for another morsel of his hot dog that fell to the ground. The Artic has a diamond pattern quilted front panel with complementary smooth sleeves. I thought how I wanted one and now I have two. The dark red is bold and striking, the black rich and classic, all their colors are perfect for layering on cool mornings or evenings over any great Antigua polos. Sean Gregg, Vice President of Product and Marketing Support has once again figured out what male golfers want.

Hers- The name is Sterling but the pattern and fit are golden. Just when I thought I was tired of any and all heather fabrications, Danielle Dellios, Antigua Women’s Designer nailed the lines on this design. A sexy placket of heather along the under part of the long sleeves and down the side ribs blends with solid colors for a perfectly feminine silhouette in this very sporty top. It looks good, feels good and is so soft and comfortable. Wear it by itself or over the never fail Jewel polo in all new shades and of course the universal black.

Vests have made a come back the last few years and are now so in! Antigua has always had great vest options but this year the Compass takes the cake. One side is a soft solid. Turn it around and the reversible side is a shiny graphic splash of fun. Let your mood be your compass. Let the Compass be your guide to layered fashion. The Promenade long sleeve under the vest or by itself will make you want to do just that, promenade your partner. We both also love their skorts and their shorts, so many to choose for your own.

Headlining the Antigua team on the LPGA Tour is 2016 Women’s U.S. Open Champion Brittany Lang along with former #1 player in the world, Stacy Lewis, Solheim Cup team members Gerina Piller and Lizette Salas, and tour veterans Austin Ernst, Alena Sharp, Candie Kung and Kim Kaufman.

PGA Tour ambassadors include 2016 Zurich Classic Champion Brian Stuard, along with Joel Dahmen and Ryan Armour.  Champions Tour ambassadors are three- time winner in 2016 Woody Austin along with Tom Pernice, Jr., Steve Pate and Billy Mayfair who finished second in the 2016 U.S. Senior Open.  Lisa Aggen makes sure all the pros are outfitted in their latest and favorites. Her passion for making golfers feel good with Antigua Performance apparel impacts their performance on the course. Take our French friend, Celine Herbin who with her Spanish caddie Vicente Ballesteros, yes brother of Seve, joined us for dinner when in town on the Symetra Tour at Longbow Golf Club. She loved our Antigua clothing and asked for a connection. We emailed Ron of her interest, he outfitted her and voila, she won the French Open. She wants to get together when back in town for the Founder’s Cup (which looks like a complete Antigua show for their sponsorship as does the Waste Management Phoenix Open). Celine shared, “I enjoyed wearing Antigua clothes during one season but I could not reject Lacoste’s offer…” Well, there’s that French Connection.

Ron says, “We are very proud to have so many fine people wearing our clothing on these tours.” The PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando this week features over 1000 golf vendors. Ron has seen it all since the early years but we first attended in 2005 launching Butthead Covers (the upside down animal head covers) and won the best new product award for accessories for which Ron gave us a couple tips. We sold the company in ’08, and now in our writing role, we don our Couple of Travelers and America’s Golfing Couple logos on Antigua apparel. We are shooow ready with a spring in our step and a look that is fresh and reflective of our “sparkling personalities” or so we’re told.

Thanks go to Danielle, Sean, Lisa, Ron, each sewer, embroiderer, packer, and every person involved with the great production of Antigua Wear. We are proud to wear their logo with ours, proud to be Antigua ambassadors worldwide. https://www.antigua.com
