BEAR THE PALM

Bear the Palm

The phrase “Bear the Palm” stems from the Roman presentation of a palm to the victor in the arena. Bear and Palmer are the names of Lindsey Leech’s sons. Clever and creative is the combination of names, meaning and intentions for a victorious line of boys’ junior apparel and matching shirts for dads.

When you meet the parents of Bear and Palmer, it is striking that their careers of Nurse Practitioner and Medical Sales Exec do not warrant a need or time for a small business. It is serendipitous that a child’s skin sensitivity and the family’s passion for golf led Founder and Mom, Lindsey to create their own clothing line.

As the WM Phoenix Open crowds converged on the merchandise tent like the fans at the Masters to scour racks of souvenir items, Lindsey had a little design of her own, and is hoping to have it displayed there for the ’25 tournament. A green and white striped shirt is adorned with little garbage trucks on the inside collar, a hint of tonka toys or WM without infringement.

Clever and creative, are all her print designs. A creek scene with a heron inspired by their local setting in Charleston, SC becomes stripes on a shirt. Her azalea pattern is a nod to Augusta without infringing on the Masters’ rights. The intricacy of the artwork separates Bear the Palm from other junior brands. The logo itself is cute with a red bear leaning against the trunk of a palm and it adorns every article of clothing.

Stitching is perfectly neat; materials are soft and antimicrobial. The little boys’ shorts have a faux zipper placket with an elastic waist to easily pull on and off because Lindsey learned in the pediatric world of urology that no kid really wants to fuss with all the fastening.

In short, Bear the Palm has perfected junior boys’ golf apparel at a time when their sons are young and growing. It will be fun to watch how the business grows with them.

Current sizes available are from XS fitting 4-5 to XL fitting 12, plus dads’ sizes in matching styles.
