White Rhino with calf. We were the first to spot this mother and calf. Only three months old and already over 300 pounds. The ranger was educating us on the protocol of each animal. When she feels threaten, her tail will go straight. After she ascertains that it is safe for her and her calf, the tail will return to its natural curly state.
Cape Buffalo. A gentle beast until it feels threaten. One of the most powerful in Africa. It will charge and continue until the threat is over. Strong enough to overturn a vehicle. Massive horns are its primary weapon.
Baboons are a common site along the highway. Keep your doors shut and your windows rolled up. They will enter without profication. A nuisance as well as entertainment.
Giraffe at Sunset. Imagine having a cocktail by the jeap in the bush area. Everyone was amazed when they decided to join us. Their long tongues allows them to feed on the Acacia tree without getting poked by the extremely sharp thorns
Jackass Penquins. These natives of south africa are protected by a railed walkway that allows you to get up close to their natural behavior and excellent swimming skills. The water is cold and the warm sand seems to be the perfect antidote for a warmup.
Giraffe. This magnificient animal is both graceful and beautiful. The gangly gallop at full speed is something to witness.
The White Lion is still the King of the Jungle. We had to wait until he decided to leave the roadway for fear of upsetting him. That is one large cat. The mother and four cubs were playing nearby. Sunset was upon the group, so driving at night was not an option.
Lion Cubs at play. Its all fun and games until it is time to eat!
The animals in their natural habitat are a wonder to see. It is truly an emotional adventure. You are awestruck with wonder and amazement. A true bucket list!
