Pitch Perfect

I received my first pitch fix divot tool as a gift from a visiting golf travel writer from the Netherlands. The unique package was an exquisite round tin with the divot tool and ball marker inside. His logo was on the ball marker and tool. The first thing that comes to mind is the high quality of the divot tool. The push button release swings the two prong repair fork into a fixed position. Locked and loaded. The sound reminded me of a guillotine being released.  This is not your flimsy divot repair tool. I was impressed with the weight of the tool. Made of high tensile strength aircraft aluminum, this tool will not end up on the shelf or bottom of your golf bag.  The classic style has a recessed collar that allows me to rest my club on it in wet conditions.  I even use it to rest my cigar without damaging the green.  This tool is a great way to brand your company or event on the product. Pitch Fix has over 13 different color combinations to accommodate any companies need or market scheme.

block-twister-lTheir newest product is the Twister. A barrel shaped tool with a twisting mechanism that protrudes three barbed prongs that extend as you twist. On the end is a magnetic ball marker for additional branding opportunities.  This design is one of the most innovative on the market. I tested this tool with several long time PGA caddies and course superintendent’s .  What better way than those that play and work on several different types of soils and turf. From links courses in California to the sand hills of Pinehurst. The feedback was instant. This tool does the least amount of damage to the roots and recovery was much faster. I recommend watching the video on how to use this tool. It is different than the normal prong approach.

I recently asked Mike Intartaglia, Barker Brook Golf Club owner, in Oriskany Falls New York, to try the new Twister series. Jordan Keisler is the course superintendent. Barker Brook is known thorough out Central New York as having the finest greens for conditioning and trueness.  They went directly to several greens to test the Twister. Mike said, “ We repaired several divots and by using the tool correctly, the green was perfect. Smooth and no damage to roots. They were impressed with how well the tool performed.
