What better way to escape the hot muggy summer than a trip to Iceland. Fly into Reykjavik and explore the capitol city and harbor. Our first golf experience was at Grindivik Golf Club, where else can you play close to a live volcano. Wow!! On our trip to Akureyri, we passed by many waterfalls and Icelandic horses. They say they taste good. No, we didn't partake, but, interesting culinary cultural thing. A short ferry ride to Westman Island, full of the Puffin colorful birds. Volcanic island that is incredibly beautiful. In the cauldron of a recent volcano (70's), lies Westman Golf Club, home to the Volcano Open. Steep black walls that rise up to the clouds surrounding the entire course. Dark and beautiful. On to the Artic Open at Akureyri Golf Club. In June, the sun never sets. We finished our round at 1am in broad daylight. Amazing!!
