OAK ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE! Thanks to Bob Ahlers for a special treat of going to the top of Oak Island Lighthouse and being in the light room. Usually for employees only, we got insight into the progression over the years of updating new tech in light designs. What a view from 158 feet above the beach of Oak Island. We even spotted the area where we caught our sharks! This is a wonderful area to explore, vacation and play lots of golf in Brunswick Islands NC. We even inquired about a one month rental option. Oak Island Fishing Charters with Capt. MIKE!!! Alice and I both caught a spinner shark and last cast hooked a full grown Black Tip. What a fight!!! Sea Trail Resort! It's a 36 hole day at Sea Trail. We played the Maples course with new renovations that seem to flow with the go. Seamless bunkering and waste areas. Lunch in the new clubhouse was great. The next 18 was on the Byrd course. Water features provided lots of opportunities to lose some balls. Wind picked up and score followed. 😆 🤣 😂 You last group dinner was at The Oyster Rock restaurant. Apps were awesome!! Alice chose the Elk Chops and I had the ribeye. Of course, our favorite desert is creme brulee. Second round begins at one of Arnold Palmers best golf designs at Rivers Edge. Magnificent clubhouse overlooking salt marsh and patio to witness who can get a birdie on Annie's Revenge, a tough par five with pencil width landing areas that juts out into the marsh. Perfect weather here in Brunswick Islands NC. It is one of the fastest growing areas in the USA. Tons of great golf in an idyllic setting. Afternoon on the water to see dolphins and shrimp boats working. Pelicans for entertainment. Finished the day at Jinks Creek Waterfront Grille. Stuffed flounder with crab meat and asparagus. Good Day from Brunswick Islands, North Carolina. Our week starts at Lockwood Folly Country Club. The lovely track winds thru the tree lined fairways of Coastal Carolina landscape. Salt Marsh come into views on several holes. Island breeze kept the humidity down for all. Our evening meal was at the iconic Boundary House in Calabash. Wonderful blackened flounder and sea scallops were a hit. Our last round on Tryall. A quick nine followed by touring other properties and enjoying fresh coconut on the course. The weather was perfect. The Beach Club hosted our evening meal with lovely sunset. Fresh Red Snapper, Shrimp and flank steaks were the preferred choice of the group. We got to visit with villa owners and members of Tryall Club. It was an exceptional way to end the trip. #golfstagram #golfcontentnetwork #beautifuldestinations #couplesgoals #vacations
